While talking to Dad on the phone, I promised to post some new pictures of our yard. (Amazing what happens when you work outside every day, isn't it?) Now it's raining and we can't go outside so there's time to Photoshop some pictures and share them! The wisteria tree was incredible this year. Who knew it would live through the winter? Putting it on the north side of the house did the trick and now the task is getting it to grow upright. We have to brace it or it falls over. Maybe in another five years, the trunk will be strong enough to bear the weight of the foliage.
The hydrangea vine on the garage wall is so gorgeous. It's never bloomed, as of yet. I've read that hydrangea vines are awfully tricky and you can't predict when or IF they'll be covered in blossoms. It might take ten years. I just love the ironwork you attached to the wall, Dad. It's almost covered up in leaves (kind of a shame).
I hope you enjoyed a brief visit to our front door. Thank you for passing on the green thumb. I love gardening and am ever so grateful my passion for growing things has finally come back.
Love,
Carolyn
