Our Awesome Blog!

We've been having Internet trubbles. Lots of 'em. Qwest finally came to our house to see if they could fix our problem. The dude who showed up was probably in his fifties, good-looking in a chubby-sort-of-way and super pleasant. Which is nice for a change since most techie guys aren't known for their charming desk-side manner.

He was working in my office downstairs and Kim and I were in her room (I hate hanging out when people are working 'cuz it makes them nervous, or at least that's my impression). We heard him laughing and then he came into her bedroom and said, "Yer Internet is working fine, now. Especially that Yankee Poodle Handy. What a great name, I love it!"

He had clicked on my google screen and selected Yankee Poodle to test our connection and yes, he was watching the Chicago basement remodel to test the buffering speed.

"What's that site, Yankee Poodle Handy, anyway?" he asked and I told him it was our family blog.

He was superbly and utterly impressed and downright flabbergasted, that's how COOL this blog is so there to all you relative-types who never post. You are missing out on a great thing, this Yankee Poodle Handy. I explained what that name meant and he liked that even more. Then he told me as he was climbing the stairs that our house was truly beautiful. "I go in a lot of houses," he says, "and your house is one of the most beautiful I've ever been in."

Toooo bad he's already married.

Love,
Carolyn

HAHAHA!!! I DON'T understand why your google screenname isn't showing up. Maybe we'll look at it together one day? You can, if you want, sign your name after posting a comment whether or not it says KATHY at the top.

That picture of my living room was done on Photobucket. They have a quick editing process for pictures and this one was called "Fresco" or something like that. You can put a sepia tone on pictures and frame them and lots of stuff but it's not as good as Photoshop. Nothing is as good OR complicated as Photoshop.

Plus, you can only install Photoshop on one computer at a time. They can see what you're doing and they know if you're cheating. So I don't have Photoshop on this new computer and that's why I tried using Photobucket's editing options. The Fresco application is cool though! We should do one of your living room!

Thanks for posting comments, Kathy. It's lonely out here in cyberspace.

Love,
Carolyn

Thanks for posting my little fish story. It really was a fun day. But the best part of the trip was re-connecting with y'all. How I miss ya...

And thank you for those wonderfully kind words about me. If I have aged OK, I guess my troubles become me!

Mucho Love, Diane
