Michael carves the Thanksgiving turkey for the first time!
Kimberly...what to say? Isn't she beautiful!
We started the day watching Macy's Parade, talking about all the people killed by wandering balloons. O yea, we can be a morbid bunch of people. It was cold in New York, not as cold as it was here but cold nonetheless which is amazing because the Rockettes are still dancing in short skirts and singers are belting out music while their lungs are freezing. Makes you wonder about the people in the streets, doesn't it? how in the heck do they stay warm? you just know they wait outside for HOURS to get a good place.
Some people will do anything to get out of cooking the turkey.
We had a marvelous dinner with lots of Tobasco, black pepper, and hot link sausage in the cornbread dressing. We figured since we were by ourselves this year, we'd fix up our favorite dishes nobody else would like but ourselves, ha! It was fun working together in the kitchen following recipes in Bon Appetit and pretending we know what we're doing.
We each wore Red aprons from Starbucks but forgot to take a picture. We'll do that for the Christmas holidays!
Kim made a luscious sweet potato pudding. I promise to share the recipe since it was light on the fat and heavy on the gingersnaps. Delicious!
Anyway, I sure hope Mother Nature doesn't split families next year. A lot of people have told me they spent the day by themselves (or in a small celebration) because of the weather. Let's hope next year brings us record "HIGH" temperatures for a change!
Love to all,
Carolyn
