Dad called on the phone today and asked if I remembered the song he used to sing called Caledonia. Of course, I remembered the song. The nickname Dad had given me stuck for years...as a child, as a teenager, as a married woman. Even Jeff called me Caledonia. The part of the song he said fit me to a "t" was the line: "What makes your big head so hard?!" which is likely why Dad picked the song for me in the first place.
Anyway, Dad asked me to put this video on Yankee Poodle Handy in case people wanted to watch Big Tiny Little on the Lawrence Welk Show which you know is on my Top Ten list of television shows to watch each week. (j'est kiddin') though I'd do almost anything for my Dad. Even watch Lawrence Welk on YouTube though he's pushing his luck I'll promise y'all that. Anyway, once a woman starts YouTubing, she can't stop so I added another video of Frank "Sugarchile" Robinson. This video clip was edited from a 1946 film titled, "No Leave, No Love."
After "Sugarchile" hammers out his boogie version of Caldeonia, I added a Scottish song called Caledonia that my dear sweet husband used to sing to me when he was dear and sweet which was a helluva long time ago. O well, time passes and so does heart burn. This Scottish song Caledonia is gorgeous gorgeous and I hope you love it as much as I do!
